Routing with OpenStreetmap data
Dennis Luxen, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology ![]()
Details about the talk:
Routing with OpenStreetMap data has received considerable interest from the OSM community and comanies working with OSM data. While there have been several ad-hoc solutions to server based and handheld routing, scalable routing solutions where scarce.
Monav (handheld) and Project OSRM (server) are two routing solution that bridge the gap between cutting edge research on algorithms and map data of OpenStreetMap. Both solutions offer continental routes within a few miliseconds almost with no obvious delay to the user.
The talk will detail the development of the past 12 months, the strengths and limitations of both solutions. Also, it will give an overview of the coming features and where development is heading.
